Farewell Ceremony
Whenever the students of a senior class are about to leave their institution, they are given a farewell party. A function is organized in their honour by the school. The occasion is full of mixed feelings, both joy and sorrow. It is remembered by one and all in the whole life. Florescent Public School organised one such farewell party for the students of Class 10 and class 12 on January 17th. The party started at 10:30 AM, where the students gathered dressed in beautiful clothes. They were allowed to mingle with each other and have their fun time. An appreciative and encouraging speech by the teachers moved the emotions in the room. There were smiles and tears and laughter. A certificate distribution soon followed to acknowledge the students who had put in the hard work. A beautiful cake was cut and distributed and the dance floor was let open. The students were served with Samosa, Kachori, Wafer and Gulab jamun as well as tea for beverages. The teachers extended them good wishes and prayed for their success and bright future. Florescent Public School wishes all the departing students the happiest and the brightest of their future.

As civilizations evolved from hunter-gathers into settled societies, the arts have been a medium of communication, expression and experience to the majority of people across the globe. Creative expression supports children’s emotional wellbeing and reduces anxiety. It’s how children represent themselves, their thoughts and feelings as they develop their ideas. Florescent Public School hosted the “Pariksha pe Charcha” event coined by Ministry of Education with students and teachers participating wholeheartedly in it. The students of Florescent Public School participated and showcased their talent in field of arts. Arts can cut across all borders and boundaries of languages universally with little relation to the associative values of the words, spoken or written. The students of class 9 to class 12 participated and showed their talent in arts. Art critics cite its similarities to language, as do researchers who investigate children's drawings. The students were encouraged by presenting them with participation certificates and the winners were awarded a prize by Distinguished members and officers such as Chairman to the standing committee Mr. Hitesh Barot, Thaltej ward president Mr. Chandubhai Patel, General Secretary Mr. Ronak Patel and Mr. Shambhubhai Desai and Corporators Mrs. Rushina Patel, Mr. Sameerbhai Patel and Mrs. Niruben Dabhi, Managing Trustee of Florescent Public school Mr. Nareshbhai Patel and Director of Florescent Public School Dr. Seema Singh. Florescent Public School applauds the efforts and the initiative by the Government of India's Ministry of Education. Events such as these are always a stepping stone for the students.

According to one of the famous beliefs, the origin of Basant Panchami festival lies in Aryan period. Aryans came and settled in India, crossing Saraswati River. There was lot of development at that time around the banks of Saraswati River. Hence, Saraswati River began to be associated with fertility and knowledge, and locals began to celebrate this festival. Vasant Panchami is known as Saraswati Puja in North India. Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, language, music, art, and the force of desire, is worshipped on this day. Yellow clothes are worn by people as a symbolic depiction of mustard flowers. The mustard fields bloom with yellow blossoms at this time of year. Florescent Public School organised a Saraswati Vandana for the students for Grade 1 to Grade 5 to create a holy and enchanting environment and to get a spiritual boost. The teachers explained how Vasant Panchami is an essential element of the Indian culture. Rituraj, the king of spring, is said to be welcomed during the Vasant Panchami festival, according to Hindu mythology. It is stated that people feel ecstatic in the spring because of their good health and affluence. Florescent Public School wishes all the students the best of Vasant Panchami and prays to Maa Saraswati for the prosperity of the students.

On Republic Day, the people of India not only celebrate and honour the achievements of the nation, but they also pay tribute to the people who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country. Therefore, the auspicious day has been declared a National holiday and is celebrated as the Republic Day of India ever since. Florescent Public School organised a celebration on the occasion of the Republic Day for the students of Pre- primary. The students showcased their dancing talent on the song “Nana munna rahi hoon…” Republic Day is a national holiday commemorating the transition of India from a British dominion to an Independent republic. This is one of the national festivals of India which embarks the sense of patriotism in everybody’s mind. This is one of the occasion which helps to introduce the younger generation to our great Indian history and culture. Republic Day also teaches us the importance of unity and how it helped in the Indian freedom struggle to defeat the much powerful British Empire. The students also created a tri-coloured butterfly out of a paper. Activities such as these help instill a sense of patriotism into students. Florescent Public School educates that Republic Day is not the only day when we should show our patriotism towards our nation instead it should be showcased in our daily routine.

It brought to life the emotions and imagery of the words and created a connection between the performer and the listeners. Poetry has always been a way for people to express their feelings, ideas, and beliefs. Whether it's a sonnet, a haiku, or a free verse, poems allow us to delve into the human experience and explore the depths of our emotions. Poem recitation requires students to carefully read and understand the words and rhythms of a poem. This helps them to improve their reading skills, including comprehension and pronunciation. Poem recitation gives students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. As they become more confident in their ability to recite a poem, they are more likely to participate in other performance-based activities in the future. Singing, the vocal production of musical tones, is so basic to man its origins are long lost in antiquity and predate the development of spoken language. The voice is presumed to be the original musical instrument, and there is no human culture, no matter how remote or isolated, that does not sing. Florescent Public School organised a singing competition for the students of grade 6 to 8. The students were singing their favourite songs and competing against one another to win the first prize. When children sing, they are using their vocal muscles to produce sound. This helps them to develop the muscles needed for speaking. In addition, singing helps children to develop a good sense of rhythm and pitch, which are important for language development. With appropriately nurturing experiences, singing competency will develop. Almost without exception, everyone has the potential to sing competently and enjoy singing across the lifespan. Bringing together kids with songs, rhymes and actions lets them discover how to interact and connect with others. They develop listening and social skills that will give them self-confidence and better prepare them for school. It helps to shape a person’s personality and contributes to their holistic development. In some ways, this subject is a demonstration of all the disciplines that one has learned in school. Guru athletic competition was held at Gujarat Vidyapeeth in Ahmedabad on February 15. Students participated in sports such as 200m, 100m and 400m race along with long and high jumps. Florescent Public school won a total of 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. Florescent Public School would like congratulate to all the students who participated in the interschool sports competition! They all showed amazing sportsmanship and dedication, and their hard work has paid off. It is a great achievement to win such a competition, and should be proud of themselves. We hope that this victory will inspire them to continue pursuing their passions and to always strive for excellence. Florescent Public school organised a colouring activity for the students of Pre-Primary and of class 1 to 5. The school organized a coloring activity where children were provided with a black and white drawing of Lord Shiva, and they used different colors to fill in the details of the picture. While they were coloring, teachers explained to them the significance of Mahashivratri and the importance of Lord Shiva in Hindu religion. The students were taught to emphasize the importance of respecting different cultures and religions, and encourage them to ask questions and learn more about the traditions and beliefs of different communities. Florescent Public School hopes activities such as these would encourage the students and educate them in becoming a more informed citizens.

The season of harvest, the festival of colours and kids’ favourite Holi is here. Holi is celebrated each year with zeal and enthusiasm in the month of March by followers of the Hindu religion. Holi celebrations are not only limited to homes and communities, but also in schools. Schools across India celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm and joy. This is a time when students forget about their studies and indulge in the joy of colors and happiness. Florescent Public School organised a Holi celebration for the students of pre-primary to grade 8. Teachers explained the history and traditions of Holi to the students, which included the stories of Lord Krishna and Holika. They also educated the students about the precautions to be taken while playing with colors and water. Students of pre-primary made a greeting card wishing their parents a happy holi. The students of grade 1-5 created greeting cards with colourful handprints signifying the festival of colours. Whereas the students of class 6 to class 8 created a greeting card with bonfire or holika on the card. They even performed traditional dances on hindi songs. Overall, the celebration of Holi in school was a wonderful way to promote cultural diversity and bring people together. Red, yellow, and green construction paper were used to make traffic lights, and show the students how each light corresponds to a different traffic rule. Teaching children about traffic rules and road safety is crucial for their well-being, and it is never too early to start. By instilling good habits and knowledge at a young age, children will be better equipped to navigate the road safely in the future. They were educated on how to cross the roads safely and why is it important to do it at a correct location. Moreover they learned of traffic rules to be followed while in a car or driving one. Florescent Public School hopes this activity instills a sense of importance of following traffic rules in the students and they become a better citizen of the country.
