A technology free childhood, where we all came back home after the evening play with mud on our hands. That was a childhood free of modern technology, with the time changed, today's kids do not get the opportunity to enjoy in a similar manner. Playing with modelling clay or pottery clay can help children develop important skills and competencies. It also helps improve eye/hand coordination and build both gross and fine motor skills, including the small muscles in hands and fingers. This helps with dexterity and is beneficial for children. Understanding it’s importance, Florescent Public School organised a Clay Moulding Activity for the students of pre-primary. This included the students creating various aquatic animals likes starfish and fish and octopus. Activities like this makes a child appreciate the similarities and differences between individuals. Clay also allows a child to learn to repair mistakes and therefore not be afraid to make them. Making mistakes is essential for self-improvement but can be difficult and even an obstacle for some children. The forgiving quality of clay, and therefore the ability to readily fix mistakes, gives the child a sense of control. Florescent Public School hopes all the students enjoyed and learnt from today’s activity to create aquatic animals from clay. We are happy to pursue learn while you play philosophy.

Hand-eye coordination is the ability of the vision system to coordinate the information received through the eyes to control, guide, and direct the hands in the accomplishment of a given task, such as handwriting or catching a ball or tying shoe laces. It is very essential that students learn these activities right in their early childhood. Florescent Public School procreated activities such as Shoe Lace Activity for the students of pre-primary to enhance their eye-hand coordination. Although all children are unique and grow in their own way, we can predict how and when their bodies will develop with some accuracy and hence activities such as these are beneficial. The students were given different shoe laces are taught them how to tie it effectively. This would make them do their own shoe laces as a practice. Learning how to tie shoelaces is often one of the more challenging tasks that children must learn in their early years. It requires co-ordination, fine motor skills and lots and lots of practice. Once they’ve mastered the task though, your child’s confidence will soar. They’ll gain a sense of independence that helps through various aspects of life. Florescent Public School hopes activities such as these are helpful to the students of pre-primary and assist and enhance their grown and learning abilities.

Show and Tell gives children an opportunity to stand up in front of their friends and speak about a topic that interest them or share something that they love. It builds confidence and helps children develop effective communication skills. Florescent Public School organised a show and tell for the students of grade 1 to 3 including props of the fruits and vegetables. Things that the students see and interact with in daily life. This makes it easier for the student to talk about it after having interacted with them previously. The act of show and tell, from choosing the item, to talking about it in front of peers, to showing it to everyone, provides students the chance to be in charge, and have their choices and voice honoured. Giving children time to share a part of their home life, their interests, with the group creates an environment of caring and fosters their sense of self and wellbeing. This helps developing emotional sense, speech development and also respectful listening. Florescent Public School wishes all the students take a great deal of learning from today's activity and continue implementing them in their lives and improve their own development.
