Teacher’s Day

Lord Sri Krishna says to Arjuna in Srimad Bhagavad Gita Ch.4.34;

Tad viddhi praṇipātena paripraśhnena sevayā |

Upadekṣhyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninas tattva-darśhinaḥ ||

Which means –

Learn the Truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him with reverence and render service unto him. Such an enlightened teacher can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the Truth.

Teaching is one of the hardest yet inarguably one of the most important jobs in the world. We all have at least one teacher that stands out among the rest. Teacher’s Day in India is celebrated annually on September 5 on the birth anniversary of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Teacher’s Day is important because it’s an annual opportunity to recognise teachers and how they’re helping and nurturing the young people of tomorrow. It also enhances and foregrounds the fundamental role that teacher’s play in society. Not only do teachers provide an essential part of a child’s development, but also they have the facilities to mould students into kind and respectful members of society. It recognises the high quality of education from the teachers right from early stages and the significant contributions they make in classrooms and communities.

Florescent Public School also organised a Teacher’s Day for the students to participate and to experience a day as a teacher in the life of students. The role reversal allowed the students to understand the day and the efforts it takes for a teacher to run a school. The students delightedly adorned themselves as teacher’s and were served snacks and beverages at the end of the day.

Teachers have always been a standing pillar of the community, the one to bear the load of future and a guiding light to the better future to come. Florescent Public School wishes all the teachers a very happy Teacher’s Day.
